The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA)'s Talent Acquisition and Executive Recruitment Section (TAERS) is recruiting for a Human Resources (HR) Leader, a team leader, a supervisor who is confident, hard-working and committed to achieving excellence. This position oversees the entire recruitment and selection process in a fast-paced environment for the CDTFA and the California State Board of Equalization (BOE).

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, the SSM I is responsible for leading and managing a team of HR professionals responsible for all aspects of the selection and hiring process including job analysis, exam administration, and classification & pay. The SSM I will ensure the selection and hiring process follows civil service laws, rules and regulations. This includes but is not limited to the review of hiring packages to ensure merit-based hiring decisions, job analysis and exam planning, development and implementation; and recruitment. The SSM I will provide consultation on the most sensitive and complex human resources management issues while providing support to team members. Travel may be required up to ten percent (10%) of the time. The position is currently in the office twice per week and as needed.

This limited term position may be extended up to twenty four (24) months if supported by workload or may become permanent if workload becomes permanent.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.
