Our Architecture and Building Engineering Group is seeking a motivated Supervisor for their Plumbing and Fire Protection unit. We are looking for an effective leader with strong problem solving skills who is passionate about mentor-ship. This role may sit in any of these locations: Madison, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Tampa, FL; Dallas, TX; Green Bay,WI; Minneapolis, MN.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Providing leadership and support to the team to ensure department policies and procedures are followed
  • Overseeing team production and ensures quality control measures are taken on all technical work
  • Supports business development activities
  • Reviewing and approving staff time-sheets and expense reports
  • Mentoring staff and providing professional development opportunities
  • Coordinating staff resources and workload with other managers
  • Coordinating with HR and leadership to grow the team and/or skill-sets
  • Working with the Department Manager regarding strategic planning related to growth and development of the team .
  • Some travel may be required.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have a combination of education and/or experience totaling 7 years of relevant experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, plumbing, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 3 years of experience;
    • OR associate degree in mechanical, or architectural engineering (or relevant degree) plus 5 years of experience;
    • OR no degree plus 7 years of relevant experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred
  • PE License in any state with the ability to obtain in other states strongly preferred
  • Prior Supervisory experience a plus
  • Designing plumbing systems for building projects
  • Designing fire protection systems for building projects
  • Managing projects and providing technical oversight
  • Leading a team and managing workload
  • Mentoring project staff
  • Business development tasks (client relationships and proposal development)
